Small Group Counseling

Students work in groups of 2-6 on a particular topic or skill during small group counseling.  Through small groups are led by the counselor, students have the opportunity to share ideas about specific issues and help each other resolve conflicts.

Small groups benefit students in raising confidence, social skills, and learning how to empathize and support one another in an intimate setting.

Sessions last about 30 minutes and usually occur for 4-6 weeks at a time.   Groups meet during different times of the school day that is least restrictive to students academic time.

Examples of small group topics may include:

Friendship Skills
Test Anxiety
Study Skills
Social Skills
Behavior
